Nip and Fab WHO?
I stumbled upon the Nip and Fab brand nearly 2 years ago at Target in an attempt to incorporate more acids into my routine. Now, over 2 years later, I can say this was the best decision ever for my skin. Nip and Fab is a UK based full-range cosmetic company that offers inexpensive but effective skin care and makeup products. Over the years they have gained more publicity, but when I discovered them, barely anyone I knew had heard of them. Now they are available at select Target locations, Ulta, GNC, Amazon, Walgreens, and other stores. It’s been great watching their brand grow especially because they offer amazing products at wallet-loving prices (they also have a student discount program!!!).
The Pads. Do They Work?
Considering I have repurchased these pads over 10 times now, the simple answer to this question is YES. Not only do they *just* work, they work great. They are formulated with glycolic, salicylic, and lactic acids at 5% of each to gently, but very effectively, exfoliate the skin. Glycolic, salicylic, and lactic acids are the chemical exfoliation dream team. Click To Tweet
After one night of using these pads, I saw a drastic improvement in my pores and my skin’s radiance. I didn’t wake up with dull skin as I used to every morning prior. Also, I noticed that my hydrating ingredients absorbed better into my skin and it was more plump than usual. This is because of the lactic acid, which these pads contain, is a humectant as well as an exfoliant. The hyaluronic acid in them also is a huge plus! My skin was being even MORE hydrated during the exfoliation step of my routine. WIN!
If I had to pick one thing aside from the combination of acids that I LOVE about these pads, it’s that they are non-irritating yet still very effective. Normally after using acids my face stings, which is expected. With these pads, I didn’t experience any stinging even on the first use. There was no adjustment period which I typically give to other acids.
How To Use
After cleansing and toning my skin with a hydrating toner, I take a single pad and wipe going AWAY from my face. I let the product absorb into my skin for about 10-15 seconds, then proceed with my hydrator. After hydrating, I take a moisturizer and seal everything in and if I have any treatment, I apply that last.
I would recommend using these only at night. Chemical exfoliants make your skin more sensitive to the sun, and if you are not wearing at LEAST SPF 30 every single day and reapplying it as you should, it’s better to use them at night and not worry about the sun ruining all your skin care goals. With that being said, I still urge you to wear sunscreen daily regardless of if you use acids in your routine or not. No daily routine is complete without sunscreen. Click To Tweet
