If you can’t tell by now, I’m a huge fan of inexpensive, luxurious skincare.

Ingredients:
water/eau, caprylic/capric triglyceride, cetearyl alcohol, isopropyl myristate, glyceryl stearate se, cetyl phosphate, cyclopentasiloxane, cyclohexasiloxane, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, betaine, silica silylate, talc, phenoxyethanol, vaccinium macrocarpon (cranberry) fruit extract, ribes nigrum (black currant) fruit extract, glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice) root extract, sodium ascorbyl phosphate, caprylyl glycol, glycerin, fragrance/parfum, salicylic acid, disodium edta, xanthan gum, sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, citronellol, geraniol, hexyl cinnamal, limonene, blue 1 (ci 42090), red 33 (ci 17200).
This ingredient list, aside from the fragrance and coloring, is essentially magic in a moisturizer. It has actives such as salicylic acid to unclog your pores and it also has a bunch of hyperpigmentation heroes such as black currant and licorice root extract. It also contains sodium ascorbyl phosphate which is a stable, water-soluble form of Vitamin C to help brighten your skin and protect it from free radical damage. The sodium hydroxide (salt form of hyaluronic acid) helps to hydrate your skin.
My experience:
The first thing I noticed while using this is that is STINGS. I mean, I simply was not expecting a moisturizer to sting. Not anything unbearable but it can be concerning if you’re unprepared. No, I did not suffer any burns from it. I assume the stinging came from the fact that I was using 4 actives in one routine (2 BHAs, AHA, and vitamin C). Over time, as my skin got used to all actives combined, the stinging subsided and I started seeing results around this time.
The most noticeable result was my dark spots fading drastically, which I noticed after 8 weeks of consistent use. It has blackcurrant and licorice extracts which are known tyrosinase inhibitors (Check out this post to see what those are: Understanding and Treating Hyperpigmentation). Along with my dark spots fading, my skin stayed moisturized and radiant throughout the day. Really radiant. Other moisturizers tend to absorb into the skin and fade away, this left a healthy glow on my skin ALL day. Probably my favorite aspect of this moisturizer is that it actually does its job of sealing in hydration. Throughout the day, my skin did not get dry at all. I have oily skin and in conjunction with the rest of my routine, it’s helped in balancing my skin significantly. I would recommend this moisturizer for ALL skin types.
This product does have a light scent that didn’t irritate my skin. But along with the active ingredients, it may irritate more sensitive skin types.
Yay or Nay?
In conclusion, I thoroughly enjoy using this moisturizer daily. It’s become a staple in my skincare routine and I don’t feel as though I’ve completed my routine without it. Did it live up to the brand’s claims? Absolutely. Although it is a nighttime product, I began using it during the daytime as well and receive compliments frequently on how healthy my skin looks. Here’s to healthy skin!
