Garnier’s Luxurious Moisture Rescue Moisturizer

Garnier’s Luxurious Moisture Rescue Moisturizer

As the weather gets colder and colder (in the northeast USA, at least), I typically focus even more on hydration and moisture. The two have to be combined in order for any routine to be effective. You shouldn’t moisturize without hydrating, and you shouldn’t hydrate without moisturizing.

To fit your hydration needs, Garnier created the most luxurious and affordable hydrating product that will leave your face feeling cool, refreshed, and hydrated. In other more dramatic terms, your face will feel like pure silk.

Sidenote: In 2018, I would like to see skincare brands call hydrating products hydrators and not moisturizers. It can get confusing explaining to people the difference between the two when all hydrating and moisturizing products are under one name: moisturizers. Take note, brands.

I’ve been using the Garnier Moisture Rescue for normal/combo skin for approximately 6 months now. From the moment I tried it on, I knew it would soon become my favorite amongst competitors like Neutrogena Hydroboost Gel (my HG for years!). It took only about two skincare routines for it to be solidified as my absolute favorite hydrator.

Garnier’s Claims:

Instantly: skin looks and feels supple, smooth. Stays hydrated for 24 hours.

In 1 hour: skin’s moisture barrier prevents dryness.

With Regular Use: continuously moisturized, skin is hydrated and looks healthier.

Ingredients:

Aqua/Water, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat., Dimethicone, Isononyl Isononanoate, Carbomer, Dimethiconol, Chlorphenesin, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Hydroxide, Vitis Vinfera Extract/Grapefruit Extract, Xanthan Gum, Tetrasodium EDTA, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Menthoxypropanediol, Magnesium Gluconate, Sodium Citrate, Benzyl Salicylate, Linalool, Calcium Gluconate, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, CI 19140/Yellow 5, CI 42090/Blue 1, Parfum/Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol.

My experience:

The consistency of the product is lightweight and very gel-like. It has a fresh scent which is highly unlikely to irritate your skin. Within the first use, my skin felt and looked plumper. I looked like I was just coming out of a facial with how dewy my skin was.

After using it consistently for 6 months now, my skin is still noticeably radiant and healthy. It stays hydrated even if I miss a routine (or two). I also noticed that my makeup applies much smoother if I apply this prior. My foundation *literally* applies and the overall finish looks like butter now because it has a smooth, healthy surface.

I was ecstatic when I realized that Garnier’s claims matched up to my experience. This is rare! I am often underwhelmed when I use a product and then read the brand’s claims and my experience doesn’t quite match up. Obviously, different skin types react differently to different products, but a hydrating moisturizer, when used properly, should work the same across the board, in my opinion. If a product claims to hydrate, it should do just that. If it can’t hydrate the driest skin to the oiliest skin, it’s not worth being on the shelves. Garnier currently has three products in their Moisture Rescue line. One for normal/combo skin, one for dry skin, and one with SPF 15 that is a lotion instead of gel. I haven’t seen the one with SPF in stores, but you can purchase it via Amazon through the image below.

For under $10, you can achieve a post-facial glow with Garnier’s Moisture Rescue moisturizer.
